The Honest Lawyer Hotel has been refurbished so now the facilities match the extremely high standard of the staff . Nobody could be friendlier or more willing to serve . We stayed for our daughters' graduation and the place was buzzing . It is in a rural location but just 3 miles from the city centre so its relatively quiet and you get a great nights sleep . The food is of a high quality and plentiful . I would definitely recommend this hotel and congratulate the manager and all his staff on their performance .
A pleasant place to stay with good facilities and friendly staff. I was in touch with the hotel before we arrived and all staff were more than happy to help and responded to email enquiries very quickly and efficiently. We chose this hotel as we were attending an event at The Stadium of Light (last minute and couldn't get a room in Sunderland). Very easy to get to by taxi which the hotel arranged - would definately stay here again
If the accomodation was not damp it would have been ok. Nice big TV's in the rooms.
The bathrooms all have problems. They are very damp & smell very musty. We complained & were moved to a different room but it was just as bad. We spoke to others staying there & they were all complaining. It really affected my wife's asthma. We also booked a twin room with you, & were told, on arrival, that you had booked a double.
Please write at least 15 words Service, Food, Staff, Location - all of these were to a high standard, and we would recommend friends to stay at your hotel at any time.
Bathroom very clean, food good
The Staff were absolutely fabulous they were polite at all times
We needed a clean comfortable room with good food and service and we got it!
There is not much to say. The hotel is somewhere outside of Durham in the countryside and far from city center (3 miles). The rooms are very small, and even are refurbished are smelling in a strange way (smell old).

Room was comfortable and quiet and very reasonable. Convenient location only a short distance to park and ride for Durham.
Friendly staff, good situation for visiting the north east, couple of miles ouside of Durham City, excellent breakfast, good evening menu.
My friend and I where given a upgrade, without asking and had wonderful rooms, the staff where extremely pleasant and obliging. The breakfast was well presented and very good, but the dinner we had was superb for the price. We where most impressed and will return.
Convenient en route to scotland
Noisy wedding party in evening with fireworks at 11pm.Old chips on floor outside door in morning.
Staff were more than helpful, cheery &informative to all our needs. The proximity to the Park &Ride into Durham was an extra bonus. The gourmet meals were excellent& very reasonably priced. The hotel should be congratulated on all aspects.
The hotel has been completely modernised and is well-managed. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient, which enhanced our stay. The hotel is conveniently situated for both business and leisure/sightseeing in the Durham region.
The hotel sits on a fairly busy A-road and the traffic noise can be annoying. There is no residents' lounge.
Friendly and helpful staff who were very happy to share their local knowledge. Facilities were comfortable motel-like but staff attitudes more like a fully serviced good quality hotel.
