Friendly staff, proximity to Durham, comfortable cosy rooms,
cooked breakfast was cold
Good location for getting in and out of the city without using the car (bus stop right outside the hotel!) Good value for money and excellent food. Like the dedicated
excellent attitude of staff - extremely helpful and friendly.
Good location, its good that its single level and you can park outside your room.good bar/restaurant facilities and lastly but most importantly the staff are excellent and very friendly
The beds are a bit on the small side , but still comfortable.
Free wi-fi very very clean very very comfortable Deep bath
Nice clean rooms, warm and comfortable - all staff very efficient and pleasant. Breakfast very good and good value too.
The breakfast, Best Western never fail to do well here.Wifi not ab
WIFi not available for half of our stay. This was a reason for booking. We needed to keep in touch with family. Would have been better to have had a choice of better value snacks , felt that the only choice being the restaurant menu , not always what a traveller wants.
Available when prior choices were fully booked.
A lot of niggles rather than anything disastrous, e.g. cup so badly cracked that breakfast coffee was dribbling onto saucer; some dirt on bathroom wall; lots of shampoo but no bath/shower gel.
No heating or hot water on First Morning... Walls so thin I could hear the man snoring next door No lift in main building so had to change to Standard Room in Courtyard, no discount offered for downgrading
Food, facilities, welcome, location.
Something that is hard to rectify that is road noise.
The food and service were excellent
Would have been nice if they had a seperate lounge area for after dinner drinks
The staff were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt that the friendliness was natural rather than "corporate image" I would really like to stay there again.
The four poster room, part of the main hotel, was spacious and well organised. Very suitable to our purposes. Our eleven year old adored the breakfasts. The senior management were extremely helpful and welcoming. Persuaded me to return next time we are in the Durham area
minor grump that the musak in the bar filters up to the first floor room in the late evening. But if that is the cost of being in the centre part of the hotel, I would bear with that.
Location for Durham and food.
Tiling and bad workmanship on finishings in the bathroom.
Budget hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms. Perfect for a night in Durham.
